National Small Business Week

Submitted by Suzi Harper, Commercial Services Manager & Personal Banker

It’s National Small Business Week and Farmers Bank is celebrating our local small businesses! We want to recognize the hard work, ingenuity, and dedication of small businesses and their contribution to our local economy. Their impact on our community can be felt in many ways whether it be through their charitable endeavors to their local or economic footprint. Maybe they provide you with a peaceful moment as you peruse their store for your latest purchase. Maybe they give you that night away from the kitchen to enjoy a meal together as a family at your favorite restaurant. Maybe they provide you with that much-needed service that they are skillfully trained to serve our community with their talented trades. In these ways and many more, they make our community a better place to live in and for that, we celebrate them!

Did you know:

  • More than 50% of Americans either own or work for a small business.
  • For every $100 you spend at locally owned businesses, approximately $68 will stay in the community.

How can you help celebrate National Small Business Week? Support… and that can be done in so many ways. Shopping & dining locally is so important but it’s not limited to just that. Support can be shown through sharing. We have a variety of amazing small businesses in our community! Did you recently get your car detailed and loved it? Tell your friends! Had the best massage of your life? Book another and tell others! We each have the unique opportunity to help our community’s small businesses by sharing their posts on social media, referring them to others, and simply being there for them.

Please take a moment over National Small Business Week to support them. Try out a new business. And support your favorites. You can watch our Facebook page for some small business spotlights we are featuring throughout the week. We are proud to support them and the many others in our community who help make Spencer great!
